After the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis, Switzerland was in urgent need for ventilators. CAT Aviation was entrusted to carry out a special flight mission to import medical equipment from Taipei to Zurich. Under significant time pressure, the Dispatch and flight crew started to prepare the flight dealing with various operational restrictions, such as special state entry requirements, flight duty times, logistic hurdles and loading requirements.
On March 24th at eight o’clock in the morning, the ultra long-haul Falcon 7X jet took off from Zurich airport with five pilots and one cabin attendant on board. The enlarged crew properly divided the considerable workload over two days according to the flight duty regulations. The trip via Bangkok was flown smoothly as planned with a very short ground time in Taipei of just 45 minutes. CAT Aviation is proud to support such special missions given the extraordinary situation.
